Darren Miller Completes Grueling Race Weekend

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

April 23, 2007, 2007

(CHADWICK, IL) - Darren Miller and the 32D team competed at two events over the past weekend.  Traveling first to Lowes Dirt Track - Concord (NC) for the “2nd Annual Circle K Colossal”, Miller qualified well and started fourth in his heat race Friday night.  Unfortunately Miller was caught up in an early heat race incident when a car spun in front of him and rolled down track into the racing groove.  Miller was forced to take evasive action into the wet infield,  where the car skated, striking an implement tire and sustaining major front-end damage.

Quickly assessing the damage to the racecar, Miller made the decision to make the 16-plus hour return drive to West Liberty (IA) to compete Saturday night at the WDRL event at West Liberty Speedway.  Arriving in Iowa Saturday after an all night drive, the team made extensive repairs to the car, but the damage was more severe than expected and relegated Miller to a 22nd place feature finish in Saturday night’s event.

“We knew that being scheduled to start deep in the C-Main on Saturday combined with the damage the car received put us in a deep hole at the Colossal” Miller said.  “We made the decision to head to West. Liberty and check the car out.  Once there, we adjusted on the car all night and were able to get the thing in the feature, but the car was hurt worse than we originally thought.  I just want to thank all of our fans, friends and family for their support.  It ended up being a pretty long weekend, but you know when you race seventy or eighty nights a year like we do, these things will happen.  It’s all part of the job. We’ll continue to work this week and be race ready for the next events on the schedule.”
