Darren “The Thriller” Miller Consistent In “Tri-Track Challenge”
June 6, 2005

(CHADWICK, IL) –  Darren Miller, driver of the Seubert Calf Ranches/Pro Power Racing/Ideal Ready Mix/Out-Pace Racing Products Ford Taurus and the 32D race team began their race schedule last Friday battling mother nature before settling into a groove that found them heading home Sunday evening with one third place and two second place finishes in the weekend’s three race “Tri-Track Challenge”.

Heading to Eagle (NE) Friday morning for the scheduled WOO event the team found themselves halfway across Iowa when they were notified the event had rained-out. The team immediately changed their plans and headed to the Vermillion County Speedway in Danville (IL).  where Darren led early in the race and finished second to Shannon Babb.  Saturday found the team returning home to NW Illinois for the WDRL event at Freeport (IL) Raceway Park,  only to be informed again that the event had been cancelled due to rain.  Once more the team reversed direction and headed toward I-55 Speedway at Pevely (MO) for round two of the “Tri-Track series.   Miller would once again finish in the second position after challenging Jimmy Mars for the lead while simultaneously holding back a hard charging Shannon Babb in third.

Sunday morning found the team parked along the road consulting the weather radar yet again before heading to the Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt (IN) for the third and final race of the series.  Qualifying fourth quick,  “The Thriller” quickly moved from his sixth place starting position into third place.  Miller challenged second running Dennis Erb Jr. throughout the race but the pair crossed the finish line behind race winner Don O’Neal with Erb in second and Miller in third.

“I’m very pleased with our performance this weekend” stated Miller.  “We had a consistent car that was capable of winning on each of the three nights.  We made a poor tire choice on the first night that hurt us a little, well it hurt us a lot, but the car was quick all three nights.  We’ve been running a new design car for the past few weeks, but this weekend we were racing one of our Rockets and we couldn’t be happier with it.”

Darren Miller Racing will compete next at the "11th Annual Dream" at Eldora Speedway on Friday and Saturday June 10th and 11th.  For the latest news, photos, scheduling, and merchandise see either www.darrenmillerracing.net or www.darrenmillerracing.com .  For more information about the 2005 "Dream" see www.eldoraspeedway.com .
