11th Place Finish At Topless 100, Batesville (AR)

(Chadwick, IL)   Darren "The Thriller" Miller competed last Friday and Saturday evening at the 13th Annual "Topless 100" held at Batesville Speedway, Batesville (AR).   After qualifying 20th on the field,  Darren 
lined up on the pole position for heat race #2 which included Scott Bloomquist, Ray Cook, Steve Francis, and Bill Frye.  Jumping to an early lead, Darren led the first six laps until a slight throttle push developed which allowed Bloomquist to take the lead.  Darren completed the heat race in 2nd position holding off Ray Cook for third at the finish by several car lengths.

Starting 8th in the feature, Darren was able to advance as far as 5th - 6th during the early portion of the race which was plagued by 10 cautions.  As the race progressed the 32D was slightly off on set-up and at the end the track began to take rubber around lap 88.  Darren held position to the end and completed the race in the 11th position.
