Darren Miller Wraps Up Successful August Schedule

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

August 28, 2006

(CHADWICK, IL) -  Darren “The Thriller” Miller and the 32D team returned home Sunday after completing a successful schedule of races in August. The team, who left their shop in Chadwick (IL) on Thursday August 3rd had been on the road 21 of the past 24 days.  Competing in ten events over the period, Miller posted 1 win, 8 “top-five”, and 9 “top-ten” finishes.

Miller opened the month with a bang by winning the re-scheduled “Masters” event held at Cedar Lake Speedway on August 3rd and following up two nights later with a 3rd place finish at Cedar Lake’s  “USA Nationals”.   He then competed in four WDRL events netting one 3rd and three 4th place finishes.  Moving on to the North-South 100 at Florence (KY) Speedway, the team suffered their worst finish of the month (13th) on less than racy track conditions that surprised many.  Miller then traveled to Batesville (AR) for the “Topless-100” where a last lap effort to pass leader Scott Bloomquist came up inches short, resulting in a solid 2nd place finish.   The “Scorcher-100” held at Volunteer Speedway, Bulls Gap (TN) was next on the schedule where Miller found himself starting and finishing 8th.  Wrapping up their swing with a visit to Bluegrass Speedway at Bardstown (KY) the team competed in the Lucas Oil Bluegrass Classic, where Miller netted another strong 2nd place finish.

“We had a pretty successful month overall” stated Miller from his shop in Chadwick.  “It sure would have been better though if we’d have beat Scott (Bloomquist) to the line at Batesville, but it was a good race and we were able to outrun him a couple of other  times this month.  Our program has been good. We’ll continue to tweak on it a bit and see what we can do at some of the upcoming shows.”

The 32D team will compete next at the “Prairie Dirt Classic” at Fairbury (IL) American Legion Speedway on September 2nd,  and then back to back WDRL events at Bureau County Speedway, Princeton (IL) on September 3rd and Davenport (IA) Speedway on September 4th.  The team will then begin preparations for the “36th Annual World 100” to be held at Eldora Speedway, Rossburg (OH) on September 8th and 9th
